The Rising return with new single Rebound

Belfast country-rock band The Rising have returned with their latest single, Rebound.

The song is about a messy breakup and our inclination to look for love in the wrong place at the wrong time. It’s taken from the band’s upcoming second album, Moving On, which is due for release on 3rd August 2018. The album is available for pre-order from iTunes and Google Play.

Moving On follows an extended break for The Rising after guitarist Chris Logan was injured in a near-fatal accident. The album will reflect the band’s growth musically over this time and will include elements of country, rock and pop, along with their trademark storytelling and meaningful lyrics. It was recorded in Belfast and Nashville.

The members of The Rising have embraced a DIY ethos for this record. It was funded through a successful PledgeMusic campaign and partly recorded at band member Chris Logan’s Renegade Recording Studios in Belfast. As a result of the pledge campaign the album will be available in physical formats, including a limited edition vinyl. The band also mixed the record themselves and it was mastered by Pete Maher, who previously worked with the Rolling Stones and U2.

The Rising is made up of Chantelle McAteer (vocals, synths and keyboards), Chris Logan (guitars, banjo and piano) and Brian Mellors (bass, synths and keyboards). Their previous single, Last First Love, has received over 25,000 views on the band’s VEVO page. The band has also been widely supported by BBC Radio 2 and has featured on radio playlists in the US, UK, Europe and Ireland.

Since forming the band has toured constantly. They performed at C2C: Country 2 Country Festival in 2015 and 2016 and have toured alongside acts such as Jess and the Bandits, The Shires and Ward Thomas. Their most recent tour was a headline tour in March and April 2017. They were also nominated for the Horizon Award at the 2015 British Country Music Awards.
