Nashville singer-songwriter Sam Williams has released a cover of his father Hank Williams Jr’s 1981 hit Weatherman.
The cover, which was described as ‘soulful’ by Forbes, is available to stream and download now. The song arrived while Williams was touring Europe with Cam recently on her Oh, The Places Weāll Go!
Listen to the track:
āPutting my own creative twist on the record was really fun,ā Williams told Forbes of his take on Weatherman. āI think people are going to be really surprised one day when they see where I take the legacy and how it has evolved over time. I wonāt be recreating any of my familyās sounds because I have my own. And even that will change. Inside of me, there is another me. And inside of that me, there is another me.ā
In June Williams released his single Gemini, which was praised by Rolling Ston, Sounds Like Nashville and CMT.
Williams is inspired by āthe new Nashvilleā artists like Margo Price, Tyler Childers, Ruston Kelly and more, and influenced by artists from Billie Eilish to Dolly Parton, his sister Holly Williams to Drake.
