Ruston Kelly lines up October release for covers collection Dirt Emo Vol. 1

Ruston Kelly will release new project Dirt Emo Vol. 1 on 11th October via Rounder Records.

The 8-track covers collection consists of Kelly’s favourite emo songs. The first track to be unveiled from the album is a rendition of Dashboard Confessional’s Screaming Infidelities, featuring the band’s lead singer Chris Carraba.

Of the project, Kelly shares, ā€œI donā€™t play country, this stuff is dirt emo. Itā€™s like crying in a barn or angsting in your room with a banjo.ā€

The release also features Kelly’s previously released versions of The Carter Familyā€™s Weeping Willow and Taylor Swiftā€™s All Too Well. Dirt Emo Vol. 1 follows Kelly’s acclaimed full-length debut album Dying Star, which was released last year.

The track listing for Dirt Emo Vol. 1 is:

1. Screaming Infidelities feat. Chris Carrabba (originally by Dashboard Confessional)
2. Teenage Dirtbag [Live] (originally by Wheatus)
3. At Your Funeral (originally by Saves The Day)
4. Dammit (originally by Blink 182)
5. All Too Well (originally by Taylor Swift)
6. Teenage Dirtbag [Acoustic] (originally by Wheatus)
