Richard Thompson has announced that he’ll be heading out on an extensive tour of the UK in October and November 2018.
The 13 Rivers Tour will kick off on Thursday 11th October at the Liverpool Philharmonic. Thompson will visit 19 venues across the jaunt, bringing things to a close at The New Victoria in Woking on Saturday 3rd November.
The tour is in support of Thompson’s new studio album, which will be released on Proper Records later this year.
That album is the follow-up to 2017 releases Acoustic Classics Vol. II and Acoustic Rarities. Between them the collections featured acoustic renderings of classic songs from his catalogue and new recordings of some of the more obscure songs in his repertoire.
Last year also marked the 50th anniversary of Fairport Convention, who performed together at the annual Cropredy Festival last August.
