There’s just over two weeks to go until SummerTyne Americana Festival arrives at the Sage Gateshead.
Taking place from 21st to 23rd July 2017, SummerTyne will feature the only UK shows from U.S. Stax legend William Bell, who is headlining the Saturday night with the Stax Academy Revue, and Beth Nielsen Chapman, who will headline the Sunday night.
Angaleena Presley, one third of the Pisol Annies, will make her first trip to the UK and she’ll be performing songs from her recently released album Wrangled. New Zealand-born Marlon Williams will also be performing over the weekend showcasing his antipodean version of country, folk and blue.

There is also an outdoor stage beside the River Tyne, which will feature a host of artists over the course of the weekend including: Earl Thomas & Band, Savoy Family Cajun Band, Rhona Dalling, Buffalo Skinners, Paul Handyside Trio, The King Bees, Archie Brown & The Prisoners of Fender, Big Ray & the Hipthrusters, Stax Academy Revue, Dexeter, Fargo Railroad Company, Vera Van Heeringen Trio, Howlinā Ric and the Rocketeers, Amythyst Kiah, Bradley Creswick Western Swing Sinfonia, Robert Vincent Band, Errol Linton Blues Band, Jonathan Terrell and High Plains Jamboree.
