Morgan Wallen impresses during Grand Ole Opry debut

Rising Country music star Morgan Wallen made an impression when he performed at the Grand Ole Opry for the first time last Friday (7th July).

Introduced to the stage by legendary Opry star ā€œWhisperingā€ Bill Anderson, a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame with 18 number ones under his belt, Wallen received praise from Anderson who predicted that the night would be ā€œthe first of many performances on the Opry stage.ā€

Anderson also drew parallels between Wallen and Johnny Cash, who debuted at the Opry on the same day 61 years earlier.

Wallen performed original song Whiskey Glasses and his breakout first single The Way I Talk, both of which appear on his 2016 EP The Way I Talk produced by Joey Moi.

The Way I Talk, written by Jessi Alexander, Ben Hayslip, and Chase McGill, has risen into the Top 35 of the Country radio airplay charts, and has already been streamed more than 10 million times on Spotify alone.

Wallen is currently opening for Florida Georgia Line on select dates of their The Smooth Tour 2017 alongside Nelly and Chris Lane.
