Martina McBride has her eyes set on Christmas and it’s only August!
The iconic Country singer will release her new 9-track festive album It’s The Holiday Season on 19th October 2018. It will be her first since partnering with record label BMG.
For the album McBride collaborated with the late Patrick Williams, who arranged more than 35 world-class musicians to play on it. The album was recorded at Capitol Studio in Los Angeles and Blackbird Studio in Nashville.
The collection will be the second festive set from McBride following 1998’s multi-platinum White Christmas.
“It’s been exactly 20 years since I released White Christmas. With that album I wanted to make it classic and something that would stand the test of time, which I feel like it has done. I wanted to accomplish the same thing with It’s The Holiday Season, but with a different feel. So I decided to make most of the album with a big-band swing vibe that takes you back to the Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald records. We recorded more of the pop Christmas numbers that lend themselves to that kind of feel rather than the focusing on the hymns like we did with White Christmas. I think they are great companion pieces and my hope is that they will both be enjoyed for years to come.” says McBride.
McBride will support the album release with the return of her The Joy of Christmas Tour. Each date will feature a local orchestra and the tour includes three nights at Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra.
“When I stood in the studio listening to that 38 piece band play, I knew I wanted to take it on the road. I am so excited to bring this music to life on stage and bring some of the joy of the season to people. Performing with the symphonies will be such a grand and unique experience for me. I can’t wait!” says McBride.

Ahead of her Christmas activities, McBride is releasing new cookbook Martina’s Kitchen Mix: My Recipe Playlist for Real Life on 30th October. The book features neasrly 300 pages of family recipes and new creations.
“When I find a delicious recipe I can’t wait to share it, just like when I find a great song”, says McBride. “So I’m excited to share what I am cooking right now in my own kitchen for my family and friends. These are some of my very favorite recipes I’ve created since the last book, as well as some family recipes that have been handed down to me. I feel like this book has a good balance of health-conscious dishes and a few recipes for when you want to splurge, which represents the way I eat in real life”, she adds.
