Shania Twain has unveiled the second track for her upcoming album Now.
Poor Me follows the release of Life’s About to Get Good and it’s a deeply personal track about the breakdown of her marriage. The lyric video for the track has been released and fans are loving it.
For new album Now, Twain has written and co-produced everything herself. She worked with producers Matthew Koma, Ron Aniello (Bruce Springsteen, Gavin DeGraw), Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes) and Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Norah Jones) on the record.
Talking about writing the album herself Twain said, āIām a songwriter first. That absolutely drives everything. It was a big step toward independence. I pushed myself, knowing it was going to scare me and knowing that I, alone, was responsible for however it turned out. I love collaborating, but I didnāt want any emotional, psychological, or musical influence. The minute you invite somebody into that space, youāre influenced. And then it wouldnāt be me. It wouldnāt be pure. This may be the purest work I ever do.ā
Now, released on 29th September, is the follow-up to UP! which was released in 2002.
In September UK fans can see Twain when she performs as part of the line-up for BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park.
