Kendell Marvel will release his debut album Lowdown & Lonesome on 18th May 2018 via Snakefarm Records.
The award-winning songwriter has teamed up with producer Keith Gattis for the album. He’s also enlisted the help of an all-star band with guest appearances from Jamey Johnson and Randy Houser.
Says Kendell: “I’m really looking forward to the release of my debut record, ‘Lowdown & Lonesome’, in the UK. It was produced by Keith Gattis, former guitar player with Dwight Yoakam, and I like to refer to it as ZZ Top meets Merle Haggard. I’m also looking forward to my first trip across the pond to be the support for the Brothers Osborne tour. I was lucky enough to meet the Brothers before they were recording artists, and even more lucky to be involved with a few of the songs on their new record, Port Saint Joe.”
Originally from Illinois, Marvel moved to Nashville in 1998 to pursue a career in music. On his first day working in the city, he wrote Right Where I Need to Be, which went on to be a Top 5 hit for Gary Allan.
Marvel put his dreams of being an artist on the back-burner and concentrated on penning songs for other artists. He’s written for George Strait, Jake Owen, Blake Shelton and Chris Stapleton to name a few.
20 years on from moving to Nashville, Marvel is ready to step into the spotlight in his own right. He’ll be supporting Brothers Osborne on their upcoming UK and Ireland tour in May. The jaunt will be his first visit to the UK.
