Kacey Musgraves will release her first Christmas collection A Very Kacey Christmas on Friday 28th October 2016.
The album will feature Leon Bridges, Willie Nelson & The Quebe Sisters and it was produced by Kacey, Misa Arriaga and Kyle Ryan. A Very Kacey Christmas features four festive original tracks, co-written by Kacey, as well as covers of eight holiday favourites.
āWorking on my first Christmas album has been one of the most enriching musical experiences Iāve ever had and I canāt wait for everyone to hear it,ā said Musgraves. āI really wanted to create a whimsical throwback holiday record, one that evokes feelings of nostalgia and simpler times. I think that the fine musicians and brains that were a part of this project have helped me create a body of music that can be added to peopleās classic collections.ā
Kacey has created new arrangements for the festive favourites she’s covered on the album. “It would have been easy to simply copy old versions of these songs that have been around forever, but it was very important for us to build arrangements that are totally new and very me.ā
A Very Kacey Christmas is inspired by Bing Crosby, the Andrews Sisters, Nat King Cole and the sounds of the 40s, 50s and 60s.
