Josh Turner‘s latest album I Serve a Savior is getting an expanded release in the UK on 30th August 2019 via Snakefarm Records.
The album, which can be pre-ordered now, has been repackaged for CD and features two bonus tracks – Without Him (Acoustic Performance From Blackbird Studios) and I Serve A Savior (Acoustic Performance From Blackbird Studios). The new edition arrives before Turner makes his first visit to the UK for a string of shows in September.
I Serve a Savior is a collection of personal numbers inspired by Turner’s faith. The record includes a cover of Hank Williams’ I Saw the Light, chosen because the first LP Turner owned was a Hank Williams Greatest Hits collection, given to him by his father
āI like things to be very real and raw, very honest,ā reflects Turner, āand these are all songs that genuinely mean something to me, that have a special place in my heart, be they older hymns, songs I wrote or covers…
āWe live in an age where thereās not a lot of hope in entertainment, which is why Iāve tried to convey a message of true hope with this album, something to cling to and count on.ā
In the US I Serve a Savior has been Top 10 in the Country charts for 29 of its 37 weeks since release. Guests on the record include Bobby Osborne, Sonya Isaacs and Turner’s family including wife Jennifer and their sons Hampton, Cody and Marion.
You can see Josh at the following dates in September:
