A definitive three CD anthology of Alan Jackson’s music is being released in August it has been announced.
Arriving on 5th August 2016 Genuine: The Alan Jackson Story features tracks, hits, and rarities-including eight previously unreleased recordings from the country superstar. The release comes via Legacy Recordings and was first made available last year as a Walmart exclusive in the US, and through Alan’s official website.
Genuine: The Alan Jackson Story contains 59 classic recordings from all phases of Alan’s career at Arista Nashville. The unreleased tracks include a live version of The Eagles’ hit Seven Bridges Road, recorded 18 years ago this week (on November 1,1997 in Birmingham, Alabama), and a rare live rendition of The Star Spangled Banner, recorded in 2001.
Popular songs included on the collection include Don’t Rock the Jukebox, It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere, Drive, Blue Blooded Woman and signature songs like Chattahoochee and Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning), a song first heard by the world when he performed it on the 35th annual CMA Awards.
The release comes with a 58-page booklet filled with photos from Alan’s personal collection. It also features tributes to Jackson and his music offered by such diverse talents as Kenny Chesney, Alison Krauss, Martina McBride, George Strait, Steven Tyler, Carrie Underwood, Lee Ann Womack, and the late George Jones.
Genuine: The Alan Jackson Story also comes with an exclusive poster featuring a panoramic shot of the entire visual exhibit from Alan Jackson: 25 Years of Keepin’ It Country.
