Exclusive: Brett Young performs an acoustic version of Mercy

Brett Young will be in the UK and Ireland next week supporting Lady Antebellum on their You Look Good World Tour and to celebrate weā€™ve got an exclusive for you!

Today weā€™re premiering a live performance of Brettā€™s album track Mercy, the closing song from his self-titled album. The performance was recorded as part of The Caliville Sessions and you can watch it exclusively right here on EF Country.

Talking about the meaning behind the beautiful piano ballad Brett explains, ā€œMercy is about getting over lost love and mending a broken heart. Itā€™s a very fragile process and it requires space from the person that hurt you. Sometimes that person is casual about the process and lingers around your life after the break up, which is inconsiderate and selfish and completely halts the healing and moving on. It doesnā€™t matter which side of the situation youā€™ve been on, itā€™s easy to connect to.ā€

Brett will play his first show on these shores at Manchester Arena on Wednesday 4th October, where heā€™ll be opening for Lady Antebellum alongside Kelsea Ballerini. When looking forward to his imminent visit to the UK, Brett can barely contain his excitement, ā€œIā€™m really excited to be taking my music over and performing in front of new audiences. Itā€™s great how global country music has become and I love that Iā€™m getting the chance to bring what I do to a new place and to new people.ā€

With Country music having made a huge breakthrough in the UK over the last few years, Brett has been hearing all about UK Country music fans. ā€œĀ Iā€™ve heard nothing but amazing things about country music fans in the UK. Iā€™ve had people come back from playing over there and they were raving about how responsive the fan base is. Iā€™m glad to get to experience that for myself.ā€

Ahead of his arrival, Brett gave us a special message that he wants to send out directly to his UK and Ireland fans: ā€œI just want them to know that Iā€™m really looking forward to coming over and playing for them. I appreciate their support and warm welcome.ā€

You can see Brett at the following dates supporting Lady Antebellum in October:
