Musician and actor Dwight Yoakam has been cast in Amazon Original Series Goliath, previously known as Trial.
Dwight will play the role of Wendell Corey, a man who heads the giant aerospace company defended by powerful law firm Cooperman McBride, Borns Tech. Billy McBride, played by Billy Bob Thornton (Fargo), takes on both of these āgoliathā businesses in season one.
Goliath also stars William Hurt (Broadcast News), along with Olivia Thirlby (Juno), Maria Bello (Prisoners) and Molly Parker (House of Cards). The series is written by David E. Kelley (Ally McBeal) and Jonathan Shapiro (The Practice); executive produced by Kelley, Shapiro and Ross Fineman (Lights Out) and Larry Trilling (Parenthood).
The series follows a down-and-out lawyer (Thornton) as he seeks redemption. His one shot depends on getting justice in a legal system where truth has become a commodity, and the scales of justice have never been more heavily weighed toward the rich and powerful.
Goliath is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in the UK this autumn.
