Carrie Underwood will release her new album Cry Pretty on 14th September 2018.
The album is Underwood’s first for Capitol Records Nashville and it features Underwood’s new single, which is the title track. Since its release earlier this month, the single cry Pretty has topped iTunes Top Songs Charts in 12 countries.
Cry Pretty, the album, is co-produced by Underwood along with writer/producer David Garcia.
Underwood says, “At this point in my career, I feel stronger and more creative than ever. I think you can hear that in this new album. It’s emotional, it’s soulful, it’s real, and we also have some fun on there too. I hope everyone loves it as much as I have loved making it.”
The album news arrives following Underwood’s first public performance in months, which took place at the 53rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday night. Underwood performed the track live for the first time and she picked up her 14th career ACM Award for Vocal Event of the Year for The Fighter, her collaboration with Keith Urban.
Underwood’s last album Storyteller was released in 2015 and it was her final collection for Arista Nashville, which had been her home since winning American Idol in 2005. She has sold 64 million records worldwide and recorded 26 #1 singles, 13 of which she co-wrote.
Earlier this year, Underwood released The Champion featuring Ludacris, which she wrote with Brett James, Chris DeStefano and Christopher Bridges aka Ludacris. It was produced by Jim Jonsin to open NBC’s Super Bowl and was incorporated into NBC’s coverage of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games.
