Carrie Underwood announced as The Long Road festival headliner

Carrie Underwood has joined the line-up for new Country, Americana and Roots festival The Long Road and she’ll be headlining!

Speculation was rife that Underwood may be involved with the festival following the recent announcement that she will be performing at BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park on Sunday 9th September.

Speaking about headlining the festival Underwood said, “I’m thrilled to be a part of this exciting new festival that celebrates the heart and soul of country music on a global stage!”

Country fans know Underwood as the 2005 American Idol winner that went on to sell over 64 million records worldwide. She’s notched up 26 number one singles and her new studio album Cry Pretty will be released on 14th September 2018.

Underwood joins a line-up that includes The Shires, Lee Ann Womack, Billy Bragg, Angaleena Presley, Catherine McGrath, The Wandering Hearts, Una Healy, Ward Thomas, Joshua Hedley, Charlie Worsham, Elizabeth Cook, Danielle Bradbery and many more.

The Long Road takes place from 7th to 9th September 2018 in Leicestershire. The festival will is based within the grounds of Stanford Hall and curated by Tennessee-born country music specialist and radio presenter Baylen Leonard.

Festival goers can expect one of the most authentic celebrations of country, Americana and roots music with The Long Road boasting five stages, authentic home cooking and plenty of outdoor activities.
