Since C2C: Country to Country first started, one star that’s been on the top of everyone’s wishlist to play the Main Stage is Keith Urban. Well in 2019 that wish is coming true as the New Zealand-born musician will be headlining the first night in London.
Shockingly Urban hasn’t performed in the UK since 2007’s Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy World Tour so he’s long overdue a return to these shores. Since then he’s released 5 studio albums, a Greatest Hits, and achieved another 15 number one singles in the US. Since the release of 2013’s Fuse, Urban has been getting progressively more experimental with his approach to the music he makes.
2016’s Ripcord saw him delving further into pop than he ever has done before and it scored him the huge hits The Fighter featuring Carrie Underwood, Break on Me, Wasted Time and Blue Ain’t Your Colour. Earlier this year Urban unleashed his latest album Graffiti U, which has proven to be his most divisive yet. He’s continued to push the boundaries of Country music and the end result is an album that is unlike anything he’s recorded before.
Not only is Urban one of the biggest Country music stars in the world, he’s also one of the best live artists in the genre. With his incredible guitar skills, enviable back catalogue of hits and distinctive voice, Urban operates in his own lane. His headline set at C2C 2019 is sure to be one of the highlights of the weekend and it’s going to kick off the London shows in the best way possible.
