C2C: Country to Country 2019: Chris Stapleton profile

We’ve been waiting since 2016 for Chris Stapleton to return to C2C: Country to Country and in March he’ll be headlining the third and final day.

It was rumoured that Stapleton was supposed to headline last year but pulled out when his wife was due to give birth around the date of the festival. In 2016 Stapleton was a revelation, bringing the audience to tears with his powerful voice and incredible musicianship. He received a very long standing ovation from the audience and he had to wipe back tears too.

Since the release of his 3x Platinum debut album Traveller in 2015, Stapleton has established himself as one of the biggest stars of Country. Fighting against the modern sound that dominates the charts, Stapleton harks back to tradition and it’s won him legions of fans. He’s also a prolific songwriter behind a host of hits including Josh Turner’s Your Man, Tim McGraw’s Whiskey and You, and Kenny Chesney’s Never Wanted Nothing More.

In 2017 Stapleton released his two-part project From a Room, which scored him his first number one hit Broken Halos. In 2018 he teamed up with Justin Timberlake to write and record a couple of tracks for the popstar’s Man of the Woods album. Say Something was the album’s breakout hit and it was a perfect meeting of two seemingly very different artists.
