Abby Anderson is a breakout artist whose been on everyone’s lips in recent months. The singer-songwriter’s track Make Him Wait is the perfect showcase for her talents and a collaboration with Jimmie Allen on a cover of Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga’s Shallow has gone viral. This weekend she’s in the UK to perform at C2C: Country to Country and she took to the Spotlight Stage to introduce herself to UK fans.
The first thing that stood out about Abby was her huge personality. She’s a ball of energy and so infectious. She introduced her first song I’m Good and then silenced the arena with her powerful voice. How such a big voice comes out of a little person is beyond me but she sounded incredible. The song was a kiss off to an ex-boyfriend and she delivered it with serious swagger.
Abby’s second song was Naked Truth and it was another big performance from the rising star. She owned the Spotlight Stage as she worked it from side-to-side, letting her voice speak for itself. Deep, raspy and full, she’s a breath of fresh air in the Country music genre.
For her final song Abby brought Jimmie Allen on stage to sing their cover of Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga’s Shallow. The audience loved it and they both sounded great. Their voices complemented each other perfectly and it felt like a truly special moment.
Abby Anderson is definitely a star to keep an eye on. She has a personality that’s almost as big as her voice and she’s hugely entertaining to watch. I can’t wait to see her do her own headline shows here in the UK as I felt tonight only just scratched the surface of what she has to offer.
