Asleep at the Wheel have announced a string of live shows in the UK for September.
The band will perform at The Long Road Festival in Lutterworth on 8th September before playing headline shows at London Nells on 9th September and Leeds Brudenell on 10th September. Tickets for all shows are on sale now.
The tour is in support of the band’s latest album New Routes, which was released via Thirty Tigers last year. The album is the band’s first new material in over a decade, New Routes is a collection of both new and familiar country, jazz, jump blues, rockabilly, Western Swing and folk, and offers a blend of originals, vibrant covers, superior musicianship, with a guest vocal appearance by Seth and Scott Avett of The Avett Brothers.
The current Asleep At The Wheel line-up is: founder/leader Ray Benson (lead guitar and vocals), Katie Shore (fiddle and vocals), Eddie Rivers (steel and sax), David Sanger (drums), Dennis Ludiker (fiddle, mandolin, vocals), Josh Hoag (bass), Connor Forsyth (piano and vocals), and Jay Reynolds (sax and clarinet).
