On the latest episode of Lethal Weapon, Riggs (Clayne Crawford) continued his new relationship and Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) considered a job offer.
The episode opened up at a party where a football star named Jesse upset another guy by flirting with his girlfriend. As Jesse and his cousin Steven left their car came under fire. They both got his and the car hit a tree. Jesse survived with a torn rotator cuff but his cousin died.
In the Murtaugh household, Trish (Keesha Sharp) was using her new spare time to do things she wanted and impressed Roger with her cooking. Then she headed out to a volunteer group. Riana spoke to her father about her concerns about her mother’s lack of job. She’d worked out that Roger would have to work another 18 years before he could retire.
Meanwhile, Riggs awoke in a hotel room and was rather confused. Room service brought him some food that he hadn’t ordered. Then he remembered that he had spent the night with Agent Palmer (Hilarie Burton). He considered raiding the mini-bar but managed to leave it alone. Later he had a meeting with Dr. Cahill (Jordana Brewster) where he told her about his night with Palmer.
Riggs and Murtaugh were called to investigate the scene of the shooting. There they noticed some strange marks on the road and found a 9mm shell casing. At the hospital they spoke with Jesse to find out what happened.
Back at the precinct, Captain Avery (Kevin Rahm) was concerned about Jesse and wanted to know how he was. Murtaugh found out it was because Avery had season tickets for the team Jesse played for.
Riggs and Murtaugh paid a visit to a school where Jesse was hoping to attend. Murtaugh bumped into an old colleague called Mike Ramos. Mike told him how he was working head of security for the school and making triple his salary. In addition he had free tickets to the games and free tuition for his kids. Roger was keen to find out more.
Riggs found a girl who could identify the shooting suspect. When Riggs tracked him down he fled. Riggs chased him down and brought him in. They found a gun during a search of his apartment but tests revealed it wasn’t a match. Scorsese found the imprint of a distinctive ring on the body of Steven.
In another chat with Jesse, Murtaugh discovered that ex-heavyweight boxer Benny Barnes was involved. They went to see Benny and Riggs noticed he was wearing a golden glove ring. Riggs wound Benny up until he hit him in the face so they could compare the ring imprint. The punch knocked out one of his teeth.
Surveillance of Barnes revealed him meeting with a man called Walter Hancock. Riggs followed Hancock and discovered he was meeting with Roger. The meeting was to discuss a job offer for Roger but Riggs interrupted it.
Some digging revealed that Jesse’s mum had recently cleared a huge credit card debt. They were sure someone had paid her off and Riggs confronted Hancock about it.
The evidence led them to a new suspect, called Wendell, who owned a car that made the same markings as the site of the shooting. Jesse overheard a meeting between Roger and his mother and decided to go after Wendell himself.
It was a bad idea and Wendell and his crew gave Jesse a beating and put him in the boot of his car. They then drove him to the school stadium with a plan to throw him off the roof. Riggs and Murtaugh arrived and both shot Wendell at exactly the same time.
At the end of the episode, Trish announced she was going back to work. Riggs stitched up his own head with a little help from Cahill. He then went back to the hotel to meet up with Palmer for another night.
