The season finale of Legion David (Dan Stevens) faced his biggest challenge yet.
At the start of the episode was a flashback scene showing Clarke (Hamish Linklater) waking in hospital. He discovered the terrible third degree burns he had suffered when David escaped.
The scene moved on to show some of his recovery, his reaction to seeing the burns for the first time and also that his husband and their son still accepted him. Returning to work they wanted him to take a desk job but he refused. He promised to stop David and the other mutants.
Back in the present, the show moved to where things left last episode. With Clark and Division 3 surrounding David and the others. David, now in control of his powers, easily defeated the team sent to stop him and the team captured Clark.
Meanwhile, in David’s mind, Farouk continued to try and escape. Due to swapping bodies with David, Syd (Rachel Keller) was still affected by Farouk in her own mind.
David tried to talk to Clark and explained how mutants and humans could live together. Clark was still in feat that the mutants would rise up and wipe the humans out. It was revealed that his prosthetic eye featured a camera that was sending what he was seeing back to Division 3.
As time went on, the device Cary (Bill Irwin) built to trap Farouk in David’s mind became less effective. He explained that they needed to remove Farouk as soon as possible. David was place in a new device to try and extract the parasite.
At first the attempt went well and Farouk appeared to be being removed from David’s memories. However it wasn’t long before Farouk found a way to fight back and David’s life was in grave danger. To stop Farouk, Syd decided to kiss David to swap bodies. This transported Farouk into Syd’s body before moving into Kerry (Amber Midthunder).
Kerry began to cause chaos first by kicking Cary then taking out an armed Wallace (Jeremie Harris). After also knocking out Melanie (Jean Smart), Kerry fought with David. The force of their powers smashing into each other knocked Farouk out of Kerry into Oliver (Jemaine Clement). He exited the building and drove away with a vision of Lenny (Aubrey Plaza) sat next to him.
Inside, David went around making sure everyone was ok. Kerry finally made up with Cary and Clark agreed to work with David. Everyone was ok but Cary wondered where Farouk went while Melanie realised that Oliver was missing.
After the credits a scene showed David and Syd on the balcony at Summerland. A small drone appeared and scanned David before trapping him inside and flying off.
Legion will return for a second season in 2018.
