On the latest episode of Homeland, Saul (Mandy Patinkin) took a trip to Abu Dhabi.

He was sent there to interrogate Farhad Nafisi (Bernard White), the Iranian picked up by the Israeli’s. Nafisi was suspected of travelling to North Korea to help with a secret parallel nuclear program.

Saul presented Nafisi with an array of information they had gathered, including hidden camera photo’s of him having sex with a Mossad operative. Saul knew he didn’t have enough time to break him so instead tried to blackmail him.

It failed so Saul turned to having him roughed up a bit while they hacked into his phone. Once the phone was unlocked they held him down while imaging his retina to gain access to his bank. There they discovered a huge line of credit that had been recently accessed.

Nafisi denied involvement and explained the money was to buy a legal Russian missile system to be used for defence. He also taunted Saul saying that they had no ambitions for a nuclear program and that they had used the idea to force the lifting of sanctions. Saul had no choice but to let him go.

Saul explained the situation to Dar Adal (F. Murray Abraham) who then briefed President-elect Elizabeth Keane (Elizabeth Marvel). Instead of explaining the truth he told her that Saul confirmed Iran’s parallel nuclear program with North Korea. He said Saul had conclusive evidence.

Carrie later met Keane and said she should see the report for herself and not just believe what she is told. It was revealed that Dar was listening in on the conversation.

Saul left Abu Dhabi to visit his sister in the West Bank. Late at night he crept out and was picked up in what looked like a police car. It’s not clear yet what he’s up to.

Meanwhile, Carrie met with Reda (Patrick Sabongui) to talk about the case with Sekou (J. Mallory McCree). Due to her disobeying the order to not talk with Saad (Leo Manzari) the plea offer was withdrawn. Carrie agreed to tell Sekou the consequences of her actions and he was understandably very upset.

To try and fix things, Carrie contacted a friend called Roger. She wanted his help to get the recording of a conversation between FBI Agent Conlin (Dominic Fumusa) and Saad. He refused but later came through for her.

The recording revealed, as expected, that Sekou had been set up. Carrie took the evidence to Conlin and demanded Sekou be released without charge. If he didn’t comply she said she would go to the Attorney General.

Elsewhere in the episode, Quinn (Rupert Friend) started to become paranoid. He felt that a man from over the street was watching Carrie’s apartment. Later he was convinced the same man was inside the apartment so he decided to try and do something.

He contacted the prostitute from the first episode to take him to, Tommy, the guy who robbed him. Quinn gained entry to Tommy’s apartment by saying he was there for business. Once inside he asked to buy Tommy’s gun and he agreed for $2000 – the same amount he robbed from Quinn.

Quinn took Tommy by surprise and assaulted him. He then took the gun without payment and told him they were even. Back at Carrie’s apartment Quinn stood watch with his new gun in hand.
