Nashville’s Chris Carmack joins Grey’s Anatomy season 15 in recurring role

As production begins on season 15 of long-running medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, it’s been announced that Nashville star Chris Carmack is scrubbing in.

Carmack, who has played Will Lexington on the Country music drama for six seasons, will be playing an orthopedic surgeon on a recurring basis. The name of his character and further details haven’t been made available at this time.

TVLine reports that Carmack’s character is an ‘ortho god’ and we wouldn’t rule him out as a potential love interest for one of the regular characters, especially as the new season has been called the ‘Season of Love’.

Prior to joining Grey’s and starring in Nashville, Carmack was best-known for his role on The O.C. He’s also appeared in Smallville, NCIS and Desperate Housewives.

Outside of acting, Carmack is also a talented musician and he’s released his own original music alongside Nashville’s six season run.

Carmack is the latest addition to the Grey’s Anatomy cast following the shake-up that took place at the end of season 14, which saw long-time cast members Sarah Drew and Jessica Capshaw leave. Kim Raver, who reprised her role as Dr. Teddy Altman, was confirmed to be back as a series regular when season 15 begins.
