World War Z sells over 1 million copies in its first week

World War Z from Saber Interactive was released on 16th April and has already sold over a million copies, not bad going for its first week. Around a quarter of these sales have come via the Epic Games Store meaning they will be reaping in extra money for each game sold on the platform, I’m sure Steam are delighted by this news…

World War Z is a co-op zombie shooter based on the movie World War Z (read our review) and pits players against zombie hordes which are smart enough to act as a single unit but also break up and launch individual attacks.

“Saber is extremely thrilled by the performance of the game on all platforms.  On the PC specifically, we are performing way above expectations thanks to the support we have received from the Epic Games Store” said Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch. “Moving forward, we’ll continue to work on growing the game and its community with new improvements, stability updates and bonus gameplay content, beginning very soon with a special new mission for the Tokyo episode.”

World War Z is available now for PC via the Epic Games Store, PS4 and Xbox One. EF Games will have a full review of the game in the coming weeks.
