Nintendo Switch Online service to launch in second half of September

Nintendo has announced that their Nintendo Switch Online service will launch in the second half of September. The paid service will let users play compatible Nintendo Switch games online, access a growing library of classic NES games with added online functionality, back up save data for most games and use additional features for the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app.

Nintendo Switch owners will need to subscribe to use the service and will not be automatically charged. The Nintendo Switch Online service will cost £3.49 per month, £6.99 for 3 months or £17.99 for 12 months. There is also a 12-month family option for £31.49 that can support up to eight Nintendo Accounts.

When Nintendo Switch Online launches, members will have access to the following:

  • Online play in games like Splatoon 2, ARMS, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Mario Tennis Aces.
  • Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online, a selection of classic NES games, like Super Mario Bros. 3, The Legend of Zelda and Dr. Mario with newly added online play.
  • Save Data Cloud backup, which lets you save your game data online for easy access in compatible games. This makes it easy to retrieve your game data if you lose your system or start using a new one.
  • Exclusive member offers.
  • Plus, enhance your online experience with features available through the Nintendo Switch smartphone app and receive special offers.

EF Games will bring you the exact launch date as soon as it is announced. Check out the official Nintendo Switch Online website for more details.
