Latest Total War: Three Kingdoms trailer released

Total War: Three Kingdoms will be the latest outing for the Total War franchise from Creative Assembly and SEGA. Ahead of the game’s launch a beautiful new trailer has been released. The trailer sees legendary hero Zhuge Liang wandering ancient China in search of a worthy master who is only willing to fight in order to restore peace to the war torn country.

Total War: Three Kingdoms will feature two gameplay modes. Classic mode will be familiar to anyone who’s played a previous Total War game. Classic mode will be historically accurate and will feature grand-scale conquest, empire management, and the struggle for ultimate military control at the heart of one of history’s greatest conflicts.

You can check out the official trailer below:

The second mode is Romance Mode which is a new addition to the Total War series. The Romance of the Three Kingdoms is essentially an embellished version of China’s history where the epicness is turned up to 11!

The Total War website explains it better than I can.

“In Classic Mode for example, battle outcomes are decided principally by how you control your army, with individual heroes appearing as regular mortals and having minimal physical impact. As a result, your heroes have a different level of importance in campaign. In Romance Mode, battle outcomes can be heavily influenced by heroes. This means they have greater value to your armies, and in turn they’ll play a more prominent role in your campaign. So Classic mode is all about tactics and statecraft, while Romance is more about personal bravado and individual martial prowess.”

Total War:3 Kingdoms is due for release on PC on March 7th, 2019 and is available to pre-order on Humble Store.
