The first Halo Wars was released on Xbox 360 back in 2009. Halo Wars was developed by Ensemble Studios and the game received generally positive reviews. Sadly Microsoft decided to shut Ensemble down after the release of Halo Wars and fans thought they would never see a sequel.
Now Microsoft and 343 Industries have decided to bring Halo Wars back. To do so they have partnered with SEGA’s Creative Assembly (Total War, Alien Isolation) to create Halo Wars 2.
Halo Wars 2 is a new strategy game filled with fast-paced action, massive battles, and an all-new Halo story. It will continue the series’ legacy of redefining the real-time strategy genre on consoles, while debuting on Windows 10 for the first time.
Halo Wars 2 will feature a robust, story-driven campaign and plenty of multiplayer action. There’s no real info just yet on the game’s story or where it will fit into the Halo timeline.
Halo Wars 2 will launching simultaneously on Xbox One and Windows 10 in Autumn 2016.
