First 13 Original Xbox games coming to Xbox One on October 24th

Great news for gamers who decided to keep their Original Xbox games collection. Microsoft have announced that tomorrow, October 24th, will see the first Original Xbox games added to their impressive Backward Compatible library. This will be the first time that games from the Original Xbox will be playable on the Xbox One.

The initial wave of these games is impressive and includes classics such as Crimson Skies, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Ninja Gaiden Black.

Here’s the full list of Original Xbox games that you’ll be able to play on Xbox One from tomorrow:

  • BLACK
  • BloodRayne 2
  • Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge
  • Dead to Rights
  • Fuzion Frenzy
  • Grabbed by the Ghoulies
  • King of Fighters Neowave
  • Ninja Gaiden Black
  • Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
  • Psychonauts
  • Red Faction II
  • Sid Meier’s Pirates!
  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

If you do still have your original discs for any of these games then you’ll be able to play them by popping them into your Xbox One console. If you own the games digitally then you’ll be able to download them. Don’t worry if you don’t have the discs or a digital copy as you can still buy these titles for £6.75 each on the Xbox Store.

Sadly these titles won’t have support for Xbox Achievements or online multiplayer. However offline multiplayer such as co-op and system-link will be supported.

If you’re an Xbox Game Pass member you will get free access to Ninja Gaiden Black as soon as the titles go live.

Microsoft are expecting to expand the library of Original Xbox titles that are compatible with Xbox One with another selection of games in Spring 2018.
