Gaming is big business nowadays, players are sometimes earning millions in competition prizes and everyone from your little brother to your nan is likely to spend some time each week gaming in one form or another. For most of us, games are a way to unwind and escape reality for a short while. For others the desire to get better and excel at a given game is strong and it seems these people are even willing to pay for a tutor to help them reach the top of their game. Just this year a British teenager took home $3 million in prize money for winning the Fortnite World Cup.
To fulfil this need, Tutor House has launched the world’s first esports tutoring service. Tutor House is the UK’s leading tutoring platform, offering private home tuition for all Primary, GCSE, A-Level & University subjects. The company’s mission is to change the way students and parents find trusted and qualified tutors, to make tutoring affordable for all and allow every single student to benefit from individual tutoring, group retake courses and educational support, no matter their level or ability.
The esports tutoring service has been launched to aid and encourage youngsters as they start their journey towards being a professional gamer. Tutor House say they have launched this initiative as they believe there is a genuine demand out there. Tutorial videos on YouTube attract millions of views and key influencers enjoy hundreds of thousands of subscribers.
Alex Dyer, the founder of Tutor House, said,
“At Tutor House, our goal is to give all students, whatever their ability, the best chance to pursue whichever career they feel is for them. Whether this be medicine, law or esports, we want to make sure that everyone has the necessary tools and education to help them succeed.
“When it comes to esports, the market has skyrocketed in recent years, with champions around the world sometimes earning millions, which we saw recently in the Fortnite World Cup. Professional gaming is becoming a more accepted career path, and we want to make sure that students have the support and guidance to successfully pursue any career path they choose.”
Potential tutors will need to go through an approval process which will include providing evidence of their skill level in a given game, valid ID and of course an enhanced DBS certificate. Successful applicants can earn up to £40 per hour and will teach students how to improve their general skills, in-game tactics and reaction times.
If you think this sounds like the perfect job you can apply via the official Tutor House page.
