EA games are coming to Steam

It’s been years since EA decided to lock up all of their games in Origin but they have now made the decision to return to Steam starting with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order which will be released on 15th November and can be pre-ordered now.

You won’t see the entire EA catalogue available straight away, it’s going to be more of a trickle of games to start off with The Sims 4 and Unravel 2 being made available over the next couple of months. Next year will see Apex Legends, Fifa 20 and Battlefield V being made available with no distinction between Steam and Origin players.

EA also plans to bring its subscription service, EA Access, to Steam early next year and will be the first gaming subscription service available on the Steam platform. EA access gives gamers access to a massive amount of EA titles as well as other membership benefits.

This is a major win for Steam as they fight to combat other digital stores, mainly The Epic Games Store which has been making waves in the industry of late due to its generous revenue splitting with developers and some very strong exclusives.
