Thought that there wouldn’t be any more DLC for Borderlands 2 given that Borderlands 3 is on the horizon? Then you thought wrong! At E3 2019 Gearbox Software announced that the release of Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary is available now and it’s completely free until 8th July.
The Commander Lilith DLC aims to get players back into the world of Pandora and set the scene for the upcoming Borderlands 3 which will be released on 13th September.

Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary takes place shortly after the events of the main story in Borderlands 2. Sanctuary is under siege, the Vault Map has been stolen, and toxic gas is poisoning Pandora. You’ll step back into the boots of legendary Vault Hunters Maya, Salvador, Axton, Zer0, Gaige or Krieg to battle new bosses, explore new areas, and collect new loot, including an entirely new tier beyond Legendary. Join up with Lilith and the Crimson Raiders to take on a deranged villain hell-bent on claiming the Vault Map for himself.

You will need to own the base game of Borderlands 2 in order to access this new content but don’t panic if you don’t already have this. There is currently a Borderlands sale running which should have you covered regardless of what machine you prefer to play on.
