Domino’s backs Greensheep for Hearthstone Championship

Domino’s Pizza stores in Blackpool are getting behind a talented local gamer, as he prepares to represent the UK at the prestigious eSports BlizzCon 2014 World Championships, taking place in Los Angeles this weekend.

Known as ‘Greensheep’ in the online gaming community, James Luo, 16, from Lytham St Annes, was selected to represent Europe and is the only person from the UK to qualify for the BlizzCon 2014 Hearthstone World Championship. He will be competing with 15 other players from around the globe to be in with the chance of winning $100,000, whilst playing live in front of thousands of fans as the championship is streamed live on the web.

Upon hearing about James’ extraordinary talent for gaming and love for pizza, his local Domino’s store jumped at the chance of supporting him – by offering him some of his favourite pizzas to help him get ready for the big day.
It’s always great to be able to give back to a fan of Domino’s, so when we heard we had a potential World Champion in the area we couldn’t wait to get behind James! We wish him all the best on his LA adventures and look forward to having a pizza ready for when he touches back down.

Whether I’m playing alone or with friends a pizza will never be too far away, so when Domino’s offered to back me I didn’t have to think twice before accepting. It’s pretty nerve-wracking knowing I’ll be representing the UK in the tournament, but hopefully I’ll do Blackpool proud!
As a local gaming hero to Lytham St Annes, James was scouted by UK gaming network Team Dignitas, who saw his potential in the specialist online card strategy game, Hearthstone.

Team Dignitas was formed in September 2003 and has since developed into what is now an iconic professional gaming brand. They are currently one of the world’s leading eSport organisations, with their network of players recognised across the globe.

Following regional playoffs to select players, the Hearthstone World Championship will begin on November 2nd/3rd, and continue at BlizzCon 2014 on November 7th/8th. Matches will be streamed live on the official Hearthstone twitch channel.
