Christmas Gift Guide: Razer gaming hardware

Serious gamers need the best gaming hardware to ensure they can compete on the highest level. There’s nothing worse than losing knowing that your hardware has let you down.

We’ve tried many different gaming hardware brands over the years but for us there’s none better than Razer.

If you’re buying for a hardcore PC gamer why not make their Christmas with one of Razer’s fantastic line-up of products. Below we’ve picked our favourites to help you decide.

Razer Taipan

If you’re serious about PC gaming then there’s no point cutting corners when it comes to choosing a mouse. The Razer Taipan is suitable for all types of games and we absolutely fell in love with it when we tested it for the first time earlier this year. Featuring an ergonomic ambidextrous design it just fits in your hand no matter your grip style. There’s nine hyperesponse buttons and both optical and laser sensors. It also boasts an incredible 8200 dpi resolution that can be changed on the fly making it perfect for FPS games. Pair it up with a decent mousing surface such as the Razer Goliathus for best performance.

Razer Naga

If you’re buying for a gamer who prefers to spend time playing MMO’s such as World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2, Rift or Defiance then the Razer Naga is a brilliant choice. The main advantage this mouse has is the grid of 12 programmable side buttons giving gamers faster access to the commands they use often.

Razer Naga Hex

The circle of 6 mechanical thumb buttons is capable of up to 250 clicks per minute. This mouse takes a little getting used to but once you do you won’t go back. We strongly recommend pairing it with the Razer Anansi keyboard thanks to its extra modifier buttons which make the Naga Hex even more useful.

Razer Goliathus

If you don’t own a decent mouse mat then we’re presuming it’s just because you’ve never tried one before. Razer have a wide selection of gaming mouse mats available and our favourite is easily the Goliathus. It’s available in a variety of sizes and is specially designed to give the perfect amount of friction. These mats have an anti-fraying frame and grip your desk to stop them from slipping. Trust us these mats can significantly improve your gaming performance.

Razer Anansi

The Razer Anansi is specifically designed for playing MMO games such as World of Warcraft and Guild Wars 2. It’s a lovely keyboard to use and incredibly well built. The backlit keys allow you to easily play in low-light and there are plenty more impressive features. The two best are the thumb modifier keys on the wrist rest and macro recording facility. Our favourite Razer keyboard.

Razer DeathStalker

The Razer DeathStalker features Chiclet style key caps that are just 2mm tall allowing for quicker key presses. The keys feature a green backlight and anti-ghosting technology that ensures all your keypresses are picked up by the game you are playing. Like other Razer keyboards it also features programmable keys and macro recording capabilities.

Razer DeathStalker Ultimate

It features everything the cheaper DeathStalker does but also has a built in LCD panel and 10 dynamic keys.  The panel can display important information from your game or run a variety of useful apps allowing you to stay up-to-date on your gmail, facebook, twitter and more. The panel can also be used as a touchpad.

Razer Orbweaver

The Razer Orbweaver keypad is designed to replace your keyboard allowing gamers to use it in their left hand with their mouse in the right. It features 20 programmable keys and an 8-way thumbpad. It takes a lot of getting used to but with practice you’ll wonder how you played without one. The speed you can bash out commands using one of these is absolutely insane and it’s also very comfortable to use thanks to the adjustable rest.

Razer Kraken Pro

The Razer Kraken Pro sounds incredible at all sound ranges and blocks out external noise well too. It’s one of the most comfortable headsets around and features an retractable mic for barking commands at your fellow gamers.

Razer Kraken Forged

Featuring the same standout features as the lower models it comes with a tough brushed aluminium finish.
