Call of Duty: Modern Warfare announcement trailer released

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is currently in development by Infinity Ward with support from Raven Software and Beenox. It is due for release on 25th October. Rather than being a sequel, Modern Warfare is being presented as a reimagining of the Modern Warfare franchise.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will include a single player campaign that puts players in some very uncomfortable situations as they face the harsh realities of war. Not only will you be playing as a special ops soldier with access to the latest weapons and gadgets but you’ll also be taking on the roles of rebel freedom fighters where you will have to use improvised weapons and guerrilla tactics.

As you would expect there will be lots of multiplayer options including co-op missions to work through with your buddies. For the first time, the franchise will also support cross-play between consoles and PC. Best news of all is that there will be no season pass which will prevent the playerbase becoming fragmented.

For the PC gamers out there, Modern Warfare will support ray tracing so if you’re lucky enough to own a shiny, new RTX graphics card you’ll be able to take full advantage of this feature.

There are three different editions of the game being released, Standard, Operator and Operator Enhanced. You can pre-order now at callofduty.com.
