The first images for The Broken Man, the seventh episode of Game of Thrones season 6, have been released giving us a closer look at some of the things that will happen in the episode.
If you’re not up to date on the Game of Thrones TV show and like to avoid spoilers (you have been warned) we suggest you don’t read any further.
Following our recap of Blood of My Blood, the sixth episode, we previewed The Broken Man by taking a look at the teaser trailer. It showed a few brief snippets to get us excited for the episode.
The new images show that we’ll definitely be seeing:
- Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) arriving at Riverrun to take it back on the order of King Tommen. There he’s going to be up against Brynden ‘the Blackfish’ Tully (Clive Russell) who took it back from the Freys.
- The return of Bronn (Jerome Flynn). There was a quick shot of him in the teaser trailer but in the new images we can see that he’s there at Jaime Lannister’s side at Riverrun. He’s a great character that brings a lot of humour as well as his devastating melee skills. We haven’t seen him since his adventures in Dorne with Jaime last season.
- Lothar Frey (Daniel Tuite) and Black Walder (Tim Plester) are also going to Riverrun as the order of their father Walder Frey (David Bradley). They are tasked with taking Riverrun back as well and have Brynden’s nephew Edmure Tully (Tobias Menzies) as a bargaining chip. Edmure was seen with a knife to his throat in the teaser trailer.
- Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) is back and by the looks of it getting around Braavos. She appeared to be having second thoughts on her assassination mission and took Needle back last episode from its hiding place. Will she finish her mission and become No-One or will she leave and go back to being Arya Stark?
- Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is seen stood with Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Ser Davos (Liam Cunningham). They are talking to Robett Glover (Tim McInnerny) of House Glover, presumably to seek their support against Ramsay Bolton.
- Margaery (Natalie Dormer) is seen in the images out of her rags and back in her normal clothes. She’s also wearing her crown. One image show’s her embracing her grandmother Olenna Tyrell (Diana Rigg). Has Margaery been changed by the High Sparrow or was she manipulating him to become free?
- As shown in the teaser trailer, the images also show Cersei (Lena Headey) talking with Olenna. In the teaser Olenna appeared to be telling Cersei off and the Mountain is stood behind.
