After a successful run that has seen record crowds come together across the world, Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyager arrived back in the capital last night for two encore performances at London’s iconic Royal Festival Hall.
The fans were out in full force, many in cosplay gear, to celebrate the most iconic pieces of music from the Star Trek TV shows and movies, spanning over five decades of Star Trek to mark its 50th Anniversary.
Star Trek is one of the biggest franchises in popular culture and science-fiction history, and the performance was a perfect opportunity for fans to relive some of its most memorable moments on the big screen with a live orchestra.
The concert, produced by CineConcerts and Senbla in association with CBS Consumer Products and Paramount Pictures, brought life to the most iconic moments from the feature films and TV series’, with a huge high-definition screen playing iconic key scenes in a series of montages that looked at the various aspects of Star Trek, its themes and aspirations.
The live orchestra element was stunning, recreating iconic pieces of music to a standing ovation at the end of the performance.
The show featured footage from the various movies in the series, which have grossed over $1.4 billion at the box office combined, and the various TV series incarnations, including: Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, Star Trek: Generations, Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Insurrection, Star Trek: Nemesis, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, the Chris Pine-led Star Trek and Star Trek: Into Darkness and Enterprise.
