The Matrix 4 confirmed with Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss

It’s official people, the Matrix 4 has been given the green light with Warner Bros and Village Roadshow Pictures producing and distributing the movie. The script has been written by Lana Wachowski with Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss donning their leather trench coats once again in their roles as Neo and Trinity.

Warner Bros Picture Group chairman Toby Emmerich made the announcement on Tuesday.

“We could not be more excited to be re-entering ‘The Matrix’ with Lana,” said Emmerich. “Lana is a true visionary — a singular and original creative filmmaker — and we are thrilled that she is writing, directing and producing this new chapter in ‘The Matrix’ universe.”

Aleksander Hemon and David Mitchel have also contributed to the script and Grant Hill will also be producing along with Wachowski.

Check out the trailer for the original Matrix below and tell me it’s not still cool!:

Unbelievably, the first Matrix movie was released twenty, yes twenty! years ago. It was, in fact, the first movie I ever owned on DVD and I was completely blown away. Not only by the insane action and special effects I was viewing on screen but also for how refreshing the entire plot felt. It also helped massively that the Matrix oozed cool straight from the off.

To date, the Matrix movie has earned over $1.6 billion at the global box office. All were written and directed by Lana and her sister Lilly and starred Reeves and Moss.

As of yet, there are no confirmed plot details but I for one am looking forward to learning more about the movie as it enters production sometime in 2020.
