The main trailer has arrived for The House with a Clock in its Walls and it looks magical.
Starring Jack Black, Cate Blanchett and Owen Vaccaro, the family movie comes from Amblin, the people behind E.T., Back to the Future and The BFG. In the trailer 10-year-old Lewis (Vaccaro) goes to live with his uncle Jonathan Barnavelt (Black), who reveals himself to be a warlock.
Teaching Lewis to embrace the magic within him while he adjusts to life in his new school as an outsider, Jonathan and his neighbour Mrs. Zimmerman (Blanchett) tell Lewis about the clock that is hidden in the house’s walls. They don’t know what it does or why it’s there but as the trailer shows, it causes a whole heap of problems that the trio will have to battle and overcome.
The House with a Clock in Its Walls is based on the book of the same name by John Bellairs. It is directed by Eli Roth (Hostel) and written by Eric Kripke (Supernatural) so you can be sure it’s going to be pretty scary and inventive.
The film also stars Renée Elise Goldsberry, Sunny Suljic and Kyle MacLachlan. It is produced by Brad Fischer, James Vanderbilt and Kripke.
The House with a Clock in Its Walls is released in UK cinemas on 21st September.
