Solo: A Star Wars Story will soon be hitting cinemas everywhere. Starring Alden Ehrenreich as our iconic hero Han Solo, we follow the early adventures of everyone’s favourite Star Wars character.
Filling the shoes of screen legend Harrison Ford will be no easy task but we are hopeful that this new film does his legacy justice, as we take on new adventures with Han and Chewbacca.

What is the new film called?
Director Ron Howard announced that the film would be called Solo: A Star Wars Story on 17th October 2017 via his Twitter channel.
What is Solo: A Star Wars Story about?
Solo: A Star Wars Story is classed as a ‘Space Western’ and will tell the origin story of Han Solo, who was originally played by Harrison Ford in the original Star Wars movies. It will take place before the events of the first Star Wars film, which was released in 1977.
Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future co-pilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.
Who stars in Solo: A Star Wars Story?
After a lengthy audition process Alden Ehrenreich was cast to play Han Solo. He will be joined by Woody Harrelson as Han’s mentor Tobias Beckett, Emilia Clarke as Qi’Ra, Donald Glover as underworld gambler Lando Calrissian and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca.
The cast also includes Paul Bettany, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Jon Favreau, Warwick Davis, Clint Howard, Lily Newmark and Kamil Lemieszewski.
When will Solo: A Star Wars Story be released?
The film will be released worldwide on 24th May 2018.
Who directs Solo: A Star Wars Story?
The film was originally going to be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller but they left the project following creative differences with the studio. Instead Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind) stepped in to direct.
Who wrote the screenplay for Solo: A Star Wars Story?
The screenplay was written by Lawrence Kasdan and Jon Kasdan, based on characters by George Lucas.

Who is composing the score for Solo: A Star Wars Story?
In July 2017 it was announced that John Powell would be providing the score for the film.
