Save Our Scripts opens for submissions

The Bureau has launched their Save Our Scripts (SOS) programme for 2013.

The Bureau is a partnership joined by 2 core ideas.  The first is to support strong voices, telling innovative stories and secondly to uncover, encourage and cultivate new talent.

The SOS Development lab launches its third edition with new partners and a clear focus on UK talent.  The SOS is now searching for writers and producers for the 7 month programme.

The programme is searching for writers who will develop a feature length screen play and producers who will fast track their development experience.

The SOS welcomes new partnerships with the London Film School, Three Mills Studios, the Genova-Liguria Film Commission and the Creative Skillset which is continuing its support.

The programme is built around three workshops, one of which will be a residential in Genova.  During the programme, the writers will develop a feature length screenplay from a short outline with ongoing support of the SOS mentors and their fellow participants.  The producers will take part in the final two workshops, and through seminars, group discussions and project specific will learn a range of development skills and approaches.

SOS is based on the value of shared experience.  This begins with the course mentors but continues amongst the participants themselves and from the programme’s exceptional guest speakers.  The programme mentors are Valentine Brazini, Tristian Goligher and Matthiew du Braconier.

The Bureau commented: We are really excited to be launching SOS for the third year. Each cycle of the programme allows us to engage and support the vast wealth of talented filmmakers that are looking for an opportunity to develop their skills. We are thrilled to have new partners on board who will aide us in ensuring this is SOS’s most successful year yet.
