Pop Up Screens are getting into the Christmas spirit with the announcement of their new slate.
They will once again be returning to the beautiful 20th Century Theatre in Notting Hill for a snow filled winter wonderland. To get to London’s only cinema in the snow, there’s only one way in: walk through their own magic wardrobe! That’s right, you’re going to enter through a wardrobe and find a snow-filled winter wonderland of a cinema inside.
Pop Up Screens have taken it upon themselves to ensure that you’ll see at least one white Christmas this year bursting with sparkle, Christmas cheer, all your favourite festive movies… and of course… boozy hot chocolate, mulled wine and other treats!
Pop Up Screens’ snow starts falling on the 12th December for it’s own unique 12 days of Christmas, but instead of leaping lords, calling birds and milking maids they’ll be movies, movies and movies accompanying the partridge in a pear tree.
Pop Up Screens’ 12 days of Christmas movies will include classics like It’s a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street, feel good comedies such as Elf and Home Alone, kid friendly hits Frozen and Arthur Christmas, modern greats like Scrooged and Love Actually and alternative Christmas movies with the likes of Gremlins and Bad Santa.
There will be up to three screenings a day (1pm, 5pm and 8.30pm), so ideal for a post-work treat, Christmas party, a day out with the family or to chill out with friends. Doors for all events open an hour beforehand, so there’s plenty of time for you to enjoy the magical surroundings and grab a drink. Ticket prices for the events range from £10 for kids and £20 for full adult tickets, full ticket information is available at http://www.popupscreens.co.uk/
Pop Up Screens founder David Leydon said: “Our Christmas screenings are really special and incredibly satisfying. It’s wonderful seeing the disbelief on people’s faces as you ask them to walk through a wardrobe to enter the cinema and then watch as a burly bloke instantly reverts to a 9 year old and starts throwing snow at his friends. I say it a lot, but Christmas is genuinely the most special thing we do”.
