The eagerly-anticipated remake of Pet Sematary has a brand new featurette that’s just been released.
This new featurette is titled ‘True Horror’ and finds author Stephen King going into detail on a deeper level of what real horror is. The video package also contains insights from actors Jason Clarke, John Lithgow and directors Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kölsch.
Pet Sematary opens in cinemas nationwide on 4th April.
Based on the seminal horror novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary first chilled audiences on the big screen way back in 1989 with King scripting the film, directed by Mary Lambert. That version starred Dale Midkiff, Denise Crosby and Fred Gwynne.
Similar to the rebooted IT (which was a massive box-office success), Stephen King’s works are now being revisited by a whole new generation looking to get scared from the master of horror. IT: Chapter 2 comes out on 6th September this year and stars Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Skarsgård and Bill Hader.
Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed (Jason Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife Rachel (Amy Seimetz) and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home.
When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbour, Jud Crandall (John Lithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.
The first trailer drew a lot of attention so fingers crossed this version of Pet Sematary scared the socks off us once again!
The film stars John Lithgow, Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz, Jeté Laurence, Maria Herrera, Alyssa Brooke Levine, Obssa Ahmed, Hugo Lavoie and Sonia Maria Chirila.
