A brand new trailer has arrived for I, Tonya, starring Margot Robbie.
The story follows American figure skating champion Tonya Harding (Margot Robbie), who was involved in a vicious attack on her rival skater, teammate Nancy Kerrigan (Caitlin Carver) just before the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer.
Alongside Margot Robbie in the film are Bobby Cannavale, Sebastian Stan, Mckenna Grace, Allison Janney, Julianne Nicholson, Bojana Novakovic, Caitlin Carver, Joey Thurmond, Catherine Dyer, Evan George Vourazeris, Joshua Mikel, Paul Walter Hauser, Heather Williams and Jason Davis.
I, Tonya has been lauded by critics and looks to be a certain contender come awards season next year, with Margot Robbie in prime position to be nominated for Best Actress.
The film is directed by Craig Gillespie, with writer Steven Rogers on screenplay duties.
Margot Robbie has been a star on the rise ever since The Wolf of Wall Street, with performances of real worth in the likes of About Time, Goodbye Christopher Robin, Focus, Suite Française and The Big Short.
Robbie will mostly remembered for playing Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad though. The role was a massive success, even if the critical reception to the movie wasn’t, with her iconic portrayal being a real highlight of the movie.
Margot Robbie will reprise her role as Harley Quinn in director David Ayer’s Gotham City Sirens, a film that takes her back to the streets of Gotham City but this time alongside DC icons Catwoman and Poison Ivy, as well as a main role in the Suicide Squad sequel, which due in 2019.
Bobby Cannavale in the meantime has always impressed onscreen. He was superb in Marvel’s Ant-Man and Danny Collins and led the TV mini-series Vinyl. Sebastian Stan was amazing in Captain America: Civil War, Mckenna Grace impressed in Gifted and screen legend Allison Janney is always perfect in every one of her projects. She is currently starring alongside Anna Faris in the TV sitcom Mom. Caitlin Carver who plays I, Tonya’s Nancy Kerrigan, was last seen doing a lot of TV work, including Dear White People, and movies like Paper Towns.
I, Tonya opens in cinemas everywhere on 23rd February 2018.
