The first trailer for Leigh Whannell’s (Saw, Insidious) Upgrade is here and it looks incredible!
Starring Logan Marshall-Green (Spider-Man: Homecoming), Upgrade is a super-violent vision of the future and it’s produced by the people behind Get Out and The Purge.

After his wife is killed during a brutal mugging that also leaves him paralyzed, Grey Trace (Marshall-Green) is approached by a billionaire inventor with an experimental cure that will “upgrade” his body. The cure – an Artificial Intelligence implant called STEM – gives Grey physical abilities beyond anything experienced and the ability to relentlessly claim vengeance against those who murdered his wife and left him for dead.
Written and directed by Whannell, Upgrade could very well be the next big sci-fi movie. Looking at the trailer it has the stunning visuals and effects of The Matrix with the darker edge of the Saw series.
The trailer sets the scene of Grey witnessing the murder of his wife. It then skips through him being paralysed and getting the STEM implant so he can walk again. A tense, and visually incredible, fight scene also plays out in the trailer and we already can’t wait to see the full movie.
