Les Miserables soundtrack to get deluxe edition

The soundtrack to Les Miserables is getting a deluxe edition release on March 18th.

The new release expands on the original tracklisting adding a further 22 tracks from the film along with unseen photos from the film set and additional liner notes.

Explaining the reason behind the new version producer Cameron Mackintosh said, ā€œAs post-production on the Les MisĆ©rables film was extremely tight, with recording of the orchestra, final edit and sound mix having to be completed in only a few weeks from early October to mid-November to achieve the first screenings, there was only enough time to remix a limited number of tracks so that at least a highlights album could be released for the fans before Christmas. We are delighted with the success of that album and very pleased that we can now add 22 more tracks so that audiences can now enjoy at home a full representation of the filmā€™s powerful and emotional version of this great score.ā€

Since it’s release in cinemas Les Miserables has smashed box-office records and picked up numerous awards. The Highlights album released earlier in the year is currently number 1 in the UK charts and has topped the charts in 22 countries.
