Theresa “Tree” Gelbman (Jessica Rothe) is going to relive her murder once again as Groundhog Day style horror Happy Death Day gets a sequel titled Happy Death Day 2U.
The film picks up two years after the first and Tree finds herself unexpectedly in the time loop revolving around her murder. This time though, it’s not just Tree’s life that depends on her breaking the loop, it’s also those of her friends.
The returning cast also includes Israel Broussard, Rachel Matthews, Ruby Modine and Phi Vu. The film is produced by Jason Blum with Christopher Landon returning to write and direct.
Happy Death Day 2U is executive-produced by Angela Mancuso, John Baldecchi and Samson Mucke.

Happy Death Day 2U will be released in UK cinemas on the 14th February 2019.
