Halloween 2018 trailer: Jamie Lee Curtis prepares for final battle with Michael Myers

The wait is over! The first trailer for Halloween 2018 has arrived and there’s a lot to unpack.

Jamie Lee Curtis reprises her role as Laurie Strode in the new movie and it’s a direct sequel to the 1978 original. Ignoring everything that took place after the first movie, Halloween 2018 pits Laurie against Michael Myers for the last time.

In the trailer we see investigator Martin (Jefferson Hall) pay a visit to Michael Myers who has been incarcerated for 40 years. Out in the facility’s yard, Martin speak to Michael and pulls his infamous mask out of a bag causing an averse reaction from the other inmates.

The trailer swiftly moves on to Laurie, who it seems has become paranoid and obsessed that Michael is going to come for her again. Living in seclusion with what looks like a safe room under her kitchen counter, Laurie has been gearing up for the final battle since her first encounter with Michael.

There’s a throwaway line where Laurie’s grand-daughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) debunks the plot twist that happened during the franchise where it was revealed Laurie was Michael’s sister.

As the trailer progresses we learn there’s a bus crash involving the bus transporting Michael. Laurie is adamant he’s escaped and armed with her trusty shot gun, she sets off to find him and put an end to her 40-year nightmare.

John Carpenter is back to executive produce and serve as creative consultant on the film, joining forces with Jason Blum. David Gordon Green and Danny McBride crafted the story, with Green directing.

As we wait for the film to arrive, we’ve been rounding up everything we know so far.Ā  We also want to know which movie in the Halloween franchise is your favourite!
