Frozen breaks US box office records

Disney’s new animated movie Frozen has broken records at the US box office becoming the biggest Thanksgiving opening of all time and the largest opening ever for Walt Disney Animation Studios.

For the five-day weekend Frozen took $93.5 million at the box office surpassing the previous record set by Toy Story 2 in 1999 which took $80.1 million.

Frozen is loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fairy tale The Snow Queen and has garned lots of critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic. It is due to open in the UK on 6th December 2013.
