Disney announce 2015 release for Finding Dory

It’s been ten years since Finding Nemo hit cinemas, but it is only now that a long awaited sequel has been officially announced by Disney Pixar. The sequel, which is named Finding Dory, will be directed by Finding Nemo’s Andrew Stanton. Stanton has stated that the story will take place one year after Finding Nemo, focusing on Dory as she delves in to her past.

“I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time,” said Ellen DeGeneres, the voice of Dory and famed daytime show host. “I’m not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating ‘Toy Story 16.’ But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: It’s got a lot of heart, it’s really funny, and the best part is—it’s got a lot more Dory.” A film focused on Dory could have been predicted by hardcore fans, as Dory is the most ‘liked’ Disney character on Facebook.

Fans of the critically acclaimed original will be happy to hear that alongside director Andrew Stanton and the voice talent of Ellen DeGeneres, Finding Dory is also set to feature Albert Brooks as Marlin. The film will also feature Nemo and the ‘Tank Gang’.

Finding Dory will be in cinemas in November 2015. Finding Nemo 3D is now in cinemas
